Organization Owned Device Disclosure

Last updated: June 1, 2026

Important Information Before Device Issuance

This Disclosure applies to Android devices owned by a recovery center or program provider and issued to active participants within a structured inpatient or supervised residential recovery program.

Please read this Disclosure carefully before a device is issued or activated.

1. Organization Ownership of the Device

The device is owned by the recovery center or program provider.

The device is not the participant’s personally owned device. Issuance of the device to a participant does not transfer ownership, title, or long-term control of the device to the participant.

SafePhone provides device-management services to the organizational customer. SafePhone does not become the owner of the device.

2. Program-Issued Device

The device is issued to an active participant for use during participation in the organization’s inpatient or supervised residential recovery program.

The device is intended to support participant communication and access to approved program-specific, utility, and other authorized applications within the structured recovery environment.

The organization may define additional permitted or prohibited uses consistent with its program rules.

3. Managed Device Environment

The device is managed under the authority of the organizational customer.

Enrollment and configuration may affect app availability, Google Play availability, app installation permissions, browser access, device settings, access restrictions, communication settings, device status and compliance monitoring, and other supported device-management features.

Some features and restrictions may vary depending on device compatibility, Android version, manufacturer implementation, management mode, network conditions, or other technical limits.

4. App Availability and Program Boundaries

App availability may be controlled by policy.

The organization may allow, block, restrict, preinstall, or require specific applications in order to support program goals and reduce access to applications that are inconsistent with those goals.

Participants should not assume that all consumer apps, websites, services, or device functions will be available on a program-issued device.

5. Intended User Experience

The intended user experience is constructive and structured.

The device is meant to help participants communicate, access approved tools, and use a phone within healthier boundaries during program participation. It is not intended to function as an unrestricted consumer device.

The organization may configure the device to support safer and more intentional phone use within the program environment.

6. Participant Responsibilities

  • using the device in accordance with program rules;
  • using the device lawfully;
  • protecting the device from loss, damage, or misuse;
  • following organization instructions relating to setup, access, collection, or support; and
  • reporting device issues as directed by the organization.

7. Data Access and Disclosure

Participants are provided disclosures regarding SafePhone’s access to and use of service data in connection with the managed device environment.

Participants must accept those disclosures in order to participate in the program and use the device.

8. No Transfer of Ownership

Any program fee, service fee, or participation status does not transfer ownership of the device to the participant.

SafePhone does not use payment status to transfer ownership of the device to a participant.

9. Collection, Reassignment, and End of Participation

When participation ends, or when the organization otherwise requires collection of the device, the device must be collected by the organization.

At or after collection, the organization or its service provider may wipe the device, remove data, apps, settings, or configurations, re-enroll the device, and reassign it to another participant or organizational use.

Participants should not store important personal information on the device without understanding that the device may be wiped and reassigned at the end of participation or as otherwise required by the organization.

10. Related Documents

Use of the device is also subject to the organization’s applicable program rules, SafePhone’s Privacy Policy, SafePhone’s Pilot Terms if applicable, and any additional organization-issued device or program notices.
